September Style Crush – Zoe Kravitz

30 Sep

Hey dolls, hope you are good today and not flued out like me (blurgh).

Anyway ‘Style Crush’ is a new post that i will be posting every month honoring  the best dressed celeb of the month.

This months winner is ZOE KRAVITZ.

I totally heart Zoe… she has some SERIOUS style.

Imagine a fusion of  relaxed and laid back bohemian and  grunge rock chic and you got Zoe in one.

Hippy headbands, trilby’s, baggy crop tops, siren red lipstick, aviators and bleached denim  are some of Zoe’s underrated signature Hollywood look.

Check below to see why Zoe is my style crush of the month

Shardinay You Baby

30 Sep

Tone deaf East Londoner Shardinay is back with her latest gimmick single  ‘You Baby’.

You Baby is not as catchy (or irritating- however you want to look at it) as the diabolical ‘Oh Boy’ however that old Shardiany formula seems to make an appearance again.

No lyrical depth, tone deafness, terrible dancing and bad styling all round seem to be a reoccurring trend for ‘Brand Shardinay’.

However, on a positive note i do think it takes a lot of courage and determination to come back with another song after the public bashing she received after ‘Oh Boy’ – that takes guts, but if your reading this Shardinay singing is not for you.

Please do music a favour and just hang up your mike love.

Lanvin For H&M : Coming in November!

24 Sep

Exciting News!

H&M have announced an exciting new A/W collaboration with Lanvin- one of my favorite designers  ever!

Following in the footsteps of Jimmy Choo and Stella McCartney  to name a few, Lanvin are the latest designers to sign up with H&M and release exclusive high street designs.

Image Copyright to H&M

Talking about the venture, Alber Elbaz, the artistic director of Lavin,  revealedH&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”

The collection will go on sale on November 23 in around 200 H&M stores worldwide, but check out the H&M website on November 2nd as H&M are going to release an exclusive video with a preview of the collection on that date.

Cant wait to see it!

London Fashion Diversity Show

17 Sep

Last nigh me and another ‘Miss Young’ (Naomi) attended the London Design Festival Fashion Diversity show which showcased A/W 2010 designs from budding emerging designers such as Sacha James, Nishanti Abeysekera and Christine Muhundo.

The sheer diversity and innovation was refreshing , and all  the designers managed to captivate and inspire the audience with their diverse range of designs.

Here’s my favorite picks and highlights of the night and designers to watch out for in the future!!!

Aama Couture

A Tribal inspired collection that consisted of bold primary colours, Afro Caribbean African inspired head raps and tropical print flared trousers, floaty fabrics and ruffled detail. This collection will add a bit of sunshine to your wardrobe.

Note: If full on print is too much for you, team a tropical drape a tropical printed scarf around your neck to add a splash of colour .

BLAQ by Sacha James

A sleek but edgy inspired collection consisted of a fusion of Harlequin Hareems are teamed with PVC , Metallic Threads and foil prints, mixed with Oriental Prints, and elegant draped Grecian maxi dresses

Note: Team Grecian dresses with sky-high heels for the ultimate ‘goddess’ look
